What is this website about?

It is a community revitalization project that is a response to the closure of the Kind Land community center in 2025.

A website tells the story of the people living on the banks of the little River Vysokusha in the Sudogodsky District of the Vladimir region. The earliest records of people living in this area date back to the 15th century. Since 2002, we — new residents from all across Russia — have begun to settle here. We moved to the countryside to learn how to live in harmony with nature and with ourselves. Each of us has described this new way of life, and this place, in different terms: some call it a kin’s domain settlement, some an ecovillage, and others simply life in nature. The themes that matter most to us are good neighbourliness, shared projects, education, ecology, and culture.

As this website develops, we plan to add information for visitors and potential neighbours about places to stay, our open events, the books we read, and more besides. There is still much work to be done, but if you already have a question, please write to us at vysokorechye@gmail.com, and we will do our best to help.
